Renewable energy presentation by Columbia Water and Light
director

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Rising costs and new technology have brought
renewable energy to the forefront of electric supply options. Columbia
Water and Light Director Dan Dasho will make a presentation on the state
of the renewable energy market Monday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m. in
Fayette, Mo. The event is being sponsored by the Howard County
Republican Women's Group and will be held at Schnell Hall, 302 Villers
Dr.
In his presentation, Mr. Dasho will review renewable energy
options available in the Midwest. Due to rising electric prices and new
technological developments, energy derived from renewable resources has
become a viable power supply option. Columbia Water and Light has been
researching renewable energy since Columbia voters approved a renewable
energy ordinance in 2004. This ordinance requires Columbia to have
renewable energy as part of its supply portfolio by 2008.
