Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility reopens April 1
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Columbia Public Works Household Hazardous
Waste Facility, 1313 Lakeview Ave., will reopen on Saturday, April 1,
from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be open on the first and third Saturdays
of the month, April through November.  
	The facility accepts residentially generated hazardous waste to
provide safe and proper disposal in order to protect the public health
and the environment. It accepts such products as dry cell batteries,
paints, solvents, used motor oil, antifreeze, cleaning chemicals and
pesticides. Additionally, the HHW Collection Facility accepts cell
phones, PDAs, pagers, digital cameras, rechargeable batteries, two-way
radios, toner and inkjet cartridges.
	For more information on the safe storage or transportation of
household hazardous waste and a listing of materials the facility
accepts, call the Solid Waste Division at (573) 874-6291 or visit the
