Temporary closure of University Avenue
					
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department
announced today that beginning Tuesday, May 16, at 7 a.m., The
University of Missouri will begin construction of pedestrian crosswalks
on University Avenue as part of a pedestrian facilities improvement
project. This work will result in the temporary closure of University
between Hitt Street and Matthews Street. 
	The work should be completed and the street should be reopened,
weather permitting, Saturday, June 3, at 5 p.m. Motorists and
pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the
construction area and use an alternate route whenever possible.
