Columbia Regional Airport celebrates arrival of US Airways Express

COLUMBIA, MO (October 3, 2006) -- The city of Columbia will welcome the
arrival of a new airline to Columbia Regional Airport (COU) with an open
house and ribbon-cutting on Oct. 5. That’s the same day that Mesa Air
Group's wholly-owned subsidiary Air Midwest will begin operating flights
out of COU as US Airways Express. 

The public is invited to tour a Beechcraft 1900D, the aircraft that
will be used by the new airline. Refreshments and drawings for giveaway
items provided by the airline and Tailwinds Restaurant/Anita’s
Homestyle Catering will be available. 

When: Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006
6 - 8 p.m.

Where: Main Terminal, Columbia Regional Airport
11300 South Airport Drive
(located 12 miles south of Interstate 70, off Highway 63, on Route H)
Free parking is available in the main terminal parking lot

Program: * Open house and tour of Beechcraft 1900D from 6 - 8 p.m.
* Remarks from Airport Manager Kathy Frerking and Air Midwest
President Greg Stephens
* 6:15 p.m. - Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting

US Airways Express will offer daily round-trip flights from Columbia to
St. Louis and Kansas City ($59 one-way fare plus fees and taxes).
Passengers can enjoy the convenience of interline ticketing agreements
with most major airlines, and full interline baggage agreements with
most major airlines allow bags to be checked through to their final
destinations.
