City telephone system alert

COLUMBIA, MO (September 8, 2006) -- The city of Columbia will have a
brief telephone system outage in order to install upgrades. The outage
will start Friday, Sept. 8, at 10 p.m. and conclude Saturday, Sept. 9,
at 5 a.m. 

This will only affect city numbers in the 874-6000 and 7000 series. It
will not affect the Water and Light number for after hours and emergency
calls.

All 911 services will remain intact. All published, non-emergency law
enforcement numbers will continue to operate. The public also may call
442-6131 to reach law enforcement personnel.
