City Council orientation and tour

COLUMBIA, MO (April 26, 2007) - 

When: Saturday, April 28, 2007 from 7:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Where: Starts at Police Department, chief’s conference room, 7th and
Walnut
Group will board a bus and travel to various sites
Bus will return to City Hall/police offices by 12:30 p.m.

Why: City manager and staff will help new Council members get
up-to-speed on city issues and facilities - “refresher” for current
members

What: 
● Brief orientation on Council procedures and tour of police
building
● Drive by Wabash Station and Fire Administration projects (10th and
Orr streets)
● Tour Grissum Building (1313 Lakeview Ave. - Public Works)
● Tour power plant and Heuchan Building (1501 and 1514 Bus. Loop 70 E
- Water and Light)
● Tour Animal Control facility (616 Big Bear Blvd. - Health Dept.)
● Tour wastewater treatment plant (4900 W. Gillespie Bridge Rd. -
Public Works)
● Lunch and return downtown
