Open house for new Hospitality Corps volunteers planned for Aug.
23	
								
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia invites volunteers with
friendly attitudes to attend an open house at the Lake of the Woods
Visitors Center, 5614 East St. Charles Rd., on Thursday, Aug. 23, from 3
to 5 p.m. 
	Potential volunteers are invited to find out more about joining
the Columbia Hospitality Corps, a volunteer program which assists the
Columbia Convention & Visitors Bureau by staffing the Lake of the Woods
Visitors Center and assisting with special events which attract
visitors. 
	In the last year, 52 volunteers participated in the program,
greeting 2,345 guests at the Lake of the Woods Visitors Center located
just north of I-70 on the east side of Columbia. Volunteers are asked to
share at least one four-hour shift per month at the center, which is
open each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
	Volunteers interested in learning more about the Columbia
Hospitality Corps are invited to attend the open house on Aug. 23,
contact the city’s Office of Volunteer Services at 874-7499 or visit
