Columbia Fire Department donates 11 Automatic External Defibrillators
COLUMBIA, MO (February 15, 2007) -- The city of Columbia Fire
Department is pleased to announce that it has donated 11 Automatic
External Defibrillators (AED's) to the Cuernavacas, Mexico Rotary Club.
These donated devices were purchased and placed in service on fire
trucks throughout the city of Columbia on Aug. 28, 1999. Since that time
new guidelines have been established by the American Heart Association
which required the Columbia Fire Department to upgrade to newer devices.
In lieu of destroying these devices, the Fire Department has been
working with Judy Elliot, who has found a home for them. These devices
will now benefit a community which currently does not have AED's.
On behalf of the men and women of the Columbia Fire Department we thank
Judy and the Rotary Club for their assistance with this project.
