Aulgur attends MMACJA Conference, elected to board

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Judge Robert D. Aulgur recently attended the
2007 Annual Conference of the Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit
Judges Association (MMACJA) held at the Lake of the Ozarks. Judge Aulgur
is the 13th Judicial Circuit Municipal Division Judge for the city of
Columbia, Mo. As a part of the state judiciary, a municipal judge is
required to keep abreast of developments in the law and judicial
matters. Attendance at the three-day annual conference fulfills a
significant part of that requirement.
Judge Aulgur was also elected to a position on the board of
directors for the MMACJA. He will represent District 10, which is
comprised of municipal and associate circuit judges in Boone, Callaway,
Cole, Osage and Gasconade counties.
The MMACJA is composed of municipal and associate circuit judges
presiding over courts throughout Missouri. Its purpose is to assist and
train its members to better perform their duties as judges and to
maintain the highest possible judicial standards in the courts. The
MMACJA was founded in 1965 and has grown from a small group of 12 to
more than 300 members.
Among the topics included in the 2007 conference were court
automation for municipal courts, seminars on no proof of insurance
cases, defendants with foreign or out-of-state drivers licenses, red
light camera ordinances, as well as sessions on judicial administration,
driving while intoxicated, ethics and a case law and search and seizure
law update.
Judge Aulgur presented a 2-hour training session on Missouri
Supreme Court Rule 37 to the Missouri Association For Court
Administration which was holding its annual meeting and training for
Missouri court clerks at the same time the judicial training was being
held.
