Vision Committee meets next week to set date for Community Choices
Workshop & Vision Summit
COLUMBIA, MO (June 14, 2007) - The Visioning Committee will meet
Tuesday, June 19, at 4 p.m. to set the date for the September Community
Choices Workshop and Vision Summit. The workshop will offer the public a
final chance to review and rank the community Vision plan. Citizens also
will have the opportunity to become stewards of the Vision as it moves
into adoption and implementation phases.
On Wednesday, June 19, Citizen Topic Groups will meet from 6 - 8 p.m.
at Lange Middle School, 2201 Smiley Lane. Approximately 225 volunteers,
working in 13 Citizen Topic Groups, are using the summer months to
finish their Community Resources Scan and create action plans for their
Vision goals and priorities.
The resources scan identifies existing community resources, initiatives
and organizations that should be taken into consideration as community
goals are finalized. As the Citizen Topic Groups finalize their action
plan, the resources scan will help them determine what existing
community resources and new private or public services or partnerships
might be needed to implement priority goals and strategies.
Details on the September Community Choices and Vision Summit will be
announced as soon as date, time and location details are finalized. For
