cases

COLUMBIA, MO (October 2, 2007) - The Columbia/Boone County Health
Department has verified three new cases of West Nile within Boone
County. The recent cases includes two 60 year-old men and a 45 year-old
man.

With the recent cases, the Health Department will spray three times
within the next six days using a clearly marked truck with an ultra-low
volume sprayer and using Anvil 2 plus 2. This product is considered safe
and is approved by the EPA for mosquito control. The spraying will occur
between the hours of 4 a.m. and 8 a.m.

The spraying areas are as follows:
● A ½ mile with Stadium Boulevard on the west and south sides, West
Worley on the north side, and Glenwood Avenue as the east boundary
● A ½ mile with Clinkscales Road as the west side boundary, Rollins
Road on the south side, Providence Road as the east boundary, and Sexton
Road on the north boundary

The symptoms of West Nile Virus vary depending on the level of
infection. Symptoms can include high fever, neck stiffness, muscle
weakness, nausea and occasionally swollen lymph glands or a skin rash on
