Firefighters respond to vehicle accident on Interstate 70 near
Providence Road

COLUMBIA, MO (April 2, 2008) - Columbia firefighters, along with
Columbia police units and EMS units, responded at 7:18 a.m. to a vehicle
accident with injuries on Interstate 70 near Providence Road. The
accident completely blocked the westbound lanes of I-70, which resulted
in the initial fire crews having difficulty accessing the scene.
Firefighters arrived to find multiple vehicles involved with one person
injured. A female occupant from one vehicle, the driver, was transported
to Boone Hospital Center with minor injuries.

The Columbia Police Department will issue a release with the name of
the driver and the cause of the accident at a later time.
