Water boil order issued

COLUMBIA, MO (July 16, 2008) - Columbia Water and Light has issued a
boil order for water customers in the Thornbrook and Millcreek Manor
subdivisions. There was a 16-inch water main break during the night
which caused low water pressure in these areas. Columbia Water & Light
has issued a precautionary boil order until it is verified that there
was not any bacterial contamination. The boil order will remain in
effect for at least 24 hours, until the lab tests are completed and it
is confirmed that the water is safe to drink.

Customers in the Thornbrook and Millcreek Manor subdivisions are
advised to take the following precautions until further notice:
●	Boil water for three minutes before using it to cook or to
drink

●	Do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker. Remake ice
using boiled water.

●	Disinfect dishes and food contact surfaces by immersing for one
minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented bleach
per gallon of water

Water service has been restored and water pressure has been stabilized
in the effected area.
