City Manager's Statement: Police Chief Search Advisory Committee

COLUMBIA, MO (July 25, 2008) - Columbia City Manager Bill Watkins
issued the following statement today, regarding the Police Chief Search
Advisory Committee.

“This afternoon I advised Darrell Foster by letter that I would
remove him from the Police Chief Search Advisory Committee, whose
members I appointed earlier this month.”

“Mr. Foster currently has pending charges against him. In the
interest of maintaining a neutral search process and assuring that his
participation does not jeopardize his legal outcomes, I believe this is
a prudent course of action.”

“I will be considering another individual to serve on the Advisory
Committee.”
