Local youths participate in AAU Missouri Valley Championship Track

COLUMBIA, MO (June 25, 2008) - On June 20-21, 21 athletes from Columbia
Parks & Recreation’s Blue Thunder Track Club competed in the AAU
Missouri Valley District Championships Track Meet in Topeka, Kan. More
than 1,000 youth from Missouri and Kansas competed in this meet.
Athletes that placed in the top four are automatically qualified to
compete in the AAU Region VIII Championships in Joplin June 26-29. The
champions and best athletes from the Arkansas, Oklahoma, Ozark and
Missouri Valley districts will compete.
The 12 qualifiers from Columbia’s Blue Thunder Track Club were:

Primary:
Madison Peth 800m 3:13.68 3rd place 

Sub-Bantam:
Graham Buresh 400m 1:09.9 3rd Place
Graham Buresh 800m 2:50.68 2nd Place
Graham Buresh 1500m 5:42.77 2nd Place
Randi Overkamp Long Jump 10-8.0’’ 4th Place
Holly Schweikert 1500m 6:18.27 2nd Place

Bantam:
Niya McAdoo Shot Put 17-5.75’’ 2nd Place
Mason Robertson 400m 1:11.15 4th Place
Reganne Travis Shot Put 15-2.5’’ 3rd Place

Sub-Midget:
Kayvona Bragg 100m 14.40 2nd Place
Kayvona Bragg 200m 29.66 4th Place
Kayvona Bragg Long Jump 13-2.5’’ 3rd Place
Cameron Smith 100m 13.99 2nd Place
Cameron Smith Long Jump 13-8.5’’ 3rd Place

Midget:
Makayla Jones Long Jump 13-9.0’’ 4th Place
Mikayla Logan 100m 13.10 2nd Place
Mikayla Logan 200m 26.88 2nd Place
Mikayla Logan Long Jump 15-1.5’’ 2nd Place

Young Men:
Albert Sostre 800m 1:59.73 3rd Place
