Columbia Fire Department concludes Basic Recruit School class;
graduation ceremony for five recruits to be held tomorrow 

COLUMBIA, MO (May 14, 2008) - The Columbia Fire Department is proud to
announce the graduation ceremony for Basic Recruit School 2008-1 will be
held on Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 701 East
Broadway. 

Three recruit firefighters for the Columbia Fire Department and two for
the Jefferson City Fire Department will have completed the eleven week
course. During their training, the recruits have experienced both
classroom and actual hands-on job training to prepare them for their
future careers. Columbia Fire Department graduates will be placed into
the shift rotation and assigned to a field training officer for guidance
and evaluation over the next 18 months. 

Graduating on May 15 are:

Columbia Fire Department - Jeff Hudson, James Pasley and Ryan Russell

Jefferson City Fire Department - Ryan Carrender and Alan Wekenborg

The public is cordially invited to the event. The Columbia Fire
Department Honor Guard will present the colors followed by remarks from
Mayor Hindman and Fire Chief William Markgraf. 

Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
