Powering Columbia’s Future
a review of future power supply options
Wednesday, May 28, 2008
6:30 p.m.
City Hall, 701 E. Broadway
Council Chambers
COLUMBIA, MO (Date) - “Powering Columbia’s Future” is an
informational meeting to discuss the initial results of a long-term
power supply study being conducted by Burns and McDonnell. At this
event, electric supply options and efficiency programs that were
evaluated for the Integrated Resource plan will be reviewed. There will
then be an opportunity for questions from the public.
An Integrated Resource plan is a comprehensive way of securing energy.
It will provide the information needed to decide on a reliable,
cost-effective and environmentally sensitive source of energy for
Columbia’s future. Ways to reduce the demand for electricity have also
been evaluated. After this review with the public, the Power Supply Task
Force will help the consultants finalize the report before submitting it
to the Columbia City Council.
The presentation will be broadcast live on the Columbia Channel,
Mediacom channel 13 and Charter Communications channel 2.
