Columbia Regional Airport launches new Web site and jingle
COLUMBIA, MO (November 10, 2008) - The Columbia Regional Airport is
pleased to announce the launch of its new Web site, FlyMidMo.com, and
advertising jingle.
The idea of a new and separate Web site from the city’s came about
when looking for new advertising methods that would put more of a
regional focus on the airport.
“Having an interactive and informative Web site will enhance the
credibility of the airport and the services offered,” says Kathy
Frerking, manager of the Columbia Regional Airport. “We wanted to
provide easier access to important airport information.”
Visitors will be kept up to date on upcoming news, events and fare
specials, as well as other useful information regarding the Columbia
Regional Airport. Some of the main features of the site are:
● FlightView, which allows visitors to check real time arrivals and
departures, as well as visually tracking flights to and from the
Columbia Regional Airport;
● a trip calculator to compare the costs of flying from Columbia
Regional Airport, such as fuel costs, time and parking, as opposed to
using other airports in our area; and;
● Airfarewatchdog.com, which will list low fares available from
Columbia Regional.
The airport is also launching its new advertising jingle “Why drive
when it’s so easy to fly?”, which debuts today. Music has been
widely used in advertising because it is believed to improve recall of
the advertised product.
“Music creates excitement and adds energy to the message being
conveyed in an advertisement” said Lorah Steiner, director of the
Convention and Visitors Bureau. Steiner is working with the Columbia
Regional Airport in an effort to increase its marketing campaign on a
regional level.
These new marketing features were created in partnership with the city
of Columbia, Columbia Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia Convention
and Visitors Bureau. For your future travel needs, check out
www.FlyMidMo.com....you really can connect to the world from
Columbia.
