Hinkson Clean Sweep

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The fifth annual Hinkson Clean Sweep is
scheduled for this Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteers
will remove trash, litter and other debris from the streambed and along
its banks. Not only does this make local streams cleaner and water
quality improved, it prevents literally tons of litter, mostly plastics,
from winding up in our oceans where it can never be removed. Over 200
people have already signed up to get their feet wet and improve our
streams. There are five different sites:
●	Site 1 - Walnut Street bridge over Hinkson Creek - Walnut Street
on the north side of Stephens Lake
●	Site 2 - Flat Branch Tributary to Hinkson Creek - Flat Branch
Park at Fourth and Broadway
●	Site 3 - Hinkson Creek Valley Neighborhood - Bluffdale Drive
(north of Shepard Boulevard)
●	Site 4 - Flat Branch Tributary to Hinkson Creek - Along the MKT
Trail at the Martin Luther King Memorial
●	Site 5 - Bear Creek at Big Bear Boulevard - East of Highway 763
on Big Bear Boulevard
If you would like to participate in the Hinkson Clean Sweep,
contact Mona Menezes at (573) 817-6447 to register.
