Cleanup Columbia will be Saturday, April 25
								
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - Cleanup Columbia, a city-wide trash pickup
event organized by the city’s Office of Volunteer Services, will be
held Saturday, April 25. Already, more than 1,700 volunteers
representing 151 groups have registered to participate. 
	Volunteers will be along Columbia streets and trails, and in
streams and parks on April 25 picking up litter. There will also be
volunteers working to remove graffiti from public property in central
Columbia. Following trash pickup, volunteers are invited to a picnic
lunch at noon at Twin Lakes Recreation Area to celebrate their efforts. 

	The Office of Volunteer Services invites the public to
participate in the event, as there as still several streets unassigned.
Residents may register online at www.GoColumbiaMo.com or in person at
the following dates and times:
●	Sunday, April 19, at Earth Day from noon to 6 p.m. at a booth
located near the intersection of Elm and 8th street. 
●	Tuesday, April 21, at Memorial Union on the MU Campus from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m.
	Cleanup Columbia is sponsored by APAC-Missouri Division, the
Sierra Club, CenturyTel, Walmart, the Columbia Daily Tribune, 102.3 BXR,
the Mid-Missouri CW and KOMU TV 8. Columbia Public Works and the Golden
K Kiwanis Club provide special assistance for the event.
