City Channel and other PEG stations to switch Mediacom channels
COLUMBIA, MO (April 17, 2009) - Citizens who subscribe to Mediacom will
soon notice that public, education and government (PEG) television
programming will be broadcasting digitally from new channel locations.
According to Public Communications Director Toni Messina, the City
Channel will move from Mediacom channel 13 to channel 80 sometime on or
around April 20.
According to Messina all three ‘PEG’ channels in Columbia will move
to Mediacom channels located in “the 80s.”
● Columbia Access Television (CAT-TV), a channel available for use by
the general public, will move from analog channel 3 to digital channel
85.
● Columbia Public Schools Television, an educational access channel,
will move from analog channel 16 to digital channel 81.
● The City Channel - Columbia’s governmental access station for
City Council meetings, video segments on city programs, job listings and
community events -
will move from analog channel 13 to digital channel 80.
Charter cable will continue broadcasting the City Channel on channel 2.
Subscribers of CenturyTel’s Internet video package can catch the City
Channel on channel 601.
