Public hearings for GetAbout Columbia infrastructure projects
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department
announces upcoming public hearings for several GetAbout Columbia
infrastructure projects to be held Monday, March 2, beginning at 7 p.m.
in the Council Chambers, fourth floor of the Daniel Boone Building, 701
E. Broadway.
Public hearings will be held for the following proposed projects
for bicycle and pedestrian improvements: Wilson’s trail connection;
Katy Place trail connection; Forum/Katy Lane trail connection; Garth
Extension trail connection (design approval only); Broadway sidewalk
(Fairview to Stadium) north side; and Providence Road sidewalk (Blue
Ridge to Smiley) east side.
Funding for GetAbout Columbia is provided by the $22 million
Federal Highway Administration’s Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot
Program. These funds are earmarked for infrastructure and
non-infrastructure projects. The non-infrastructure projects of the
initiative include generating awareness of the project and providing
education and encouragement opportunities.
Public comment is encouraged during public hearings at City
