PetScreen chooses Columbia for U.S. headquarters

COLUMBIA, MO (February 18, 2009) - A United Kingdom-based animal health
company has chosen Columbia, Mo., for its United States headquarters.
PetScreen Ltd, a Nottingham, England, animal research company will lease
800 square feet of wet lab space in the University of Missouri Life
Science Business Incubator at Monsanto Place.

PetScreen focuses on developing novel detection and treatment tools for
the major aging-related diseases in dogs and cats, (e.g. cancer, renal
disease). The company plans to use the incubator as laboratory space to
conduct cancer detection tests in the U.S. market. The group chose
Columbia over locations in North Carolina and New York.

“I am extremely pleased about the news”, Columbia Mayor Darwin
Hindman said. “PetScreen will not only bring good paying jobs and the
potential for more, it is the exact kind of economic development success
that is particularly good for Columbia, because it will bring
collaboration with the University researchers benefiting both the
university and the community and will tend to attract more business
dependent on research. It also shows the value to the community of the
newly opened business incubator.”
