Boone County Indicators Coalition Web site has updates
COLUMBIA, MO (February 25, 2009) - The Boone County Indicators
Coalition, comprised of representatives from various public and private
organizations, came together five years ago to identify key data
indicators, which help to assess the health and human service needs of
Boone County. The coalition would like to announce that it has updated
its Web site www.booneindicators.org with information gathered and
available through 2008. The Web site provides up-to-date data in an
easy-to-access manner and offers links to other online research.
The updated indicators are useful for the health and human service
community as well business community, the media and the public. Health
and human service administrators, planners and researchers have found
the information useful in several areas including strategic planning,
grant writing and fund-raising. Organizations which provide funding for
health and human services have utilized the Boone Indicators data in
making funding decisions and in their strategic planning.
The data provides businesses information on unemployment rates, median
income, health issues that cause employee absenteeism, our aging
workforce and median home costs. The site has also served as a valuable
resource to the media, who are key to increasing public awareness of
health and human service conditions in our community.
