Public meeting scheduled for new south regional park

COLUMBIA, MO (January 2, 2009) - The Columbia Parks and Recreation
Department will hold a public park planning meeting for the new south
regional park, which will be comprised of the Gans Creek Recreation Area
and Philips Park. 

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at the ARC,
1701 W. Ash. This is the second such planning meeting; the first was
held on Dec. 10. 

The public will have another chance to learn more about the parks. Park
planners will share preliminary park master plan options and gather
input and comments from interested residents. The proposed park master
plan options can be viewed on the Parks and Recreation's page of the
city's Web site at www.GoColumbiaMo.com.
