Linemen assist with storm recovery efforts

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Thirteen Columbia Water and Light linemen
headed to southeast Missouri to help restore power to the city of
Campbell. Electric line damage from a winter storm caused the city to
lose power to all customers on Tuesday morning.
The Missouri Public Utility Alliance coordinated the project
through a mutual aid program which helps utilities restore power during
widespread outages. The Columbia linemen left on Wednesday morning with
seven utility trucks. Restoring the power in Campbell is expected to
take about a week. Columbia also released contracted tree trimmers to
help clean up storm damage in Oklahoma and Virginia.

NOTE: The Missouri Public Utility Alliance can be reached at (573)
445-3279.
