Dual left turn lanes on Broadway for southbound Old Highway 63 traffic
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announces that
crews will begin marking the intersection of Broadway and Old Highway 63
this week, weather permitting. Dual left turn lanes are being added for
southbound Old 63 traffic to better utilize existing pavement and
increase capacity at the intersection. Additional space was created by
removing a center median that is no longer needed and by adjusting the
right turn island. Intersection markings are being added to help drivers
adjust to the new lane use.
Motorists encountering the paint-striping equipment should avoid
crossing freshly painted lines. Drivers should use extreme caution when
in the construction area and are encouraged to find alternate routes to
avoid delays. If you have any questions about the project, please
contact the Public Works Department at (573) 874-7250.
