Columbia Regional Airport to hold master plan public workshop	
							
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia will hold a public
workshop as part of preparing an updated airport master plan for
Columbia Regional Airport. The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug.
5, from 4-7 p.m. in the Activity Recreation Center (ARC) at 1701 West
Ash Street in Columbia.  
	This open-forum workshop will be used to present the airport
master plan findings, which identifies the airport’s facility needs
and major proposed actions over the next 20 years, including
environmental considerations. The major proposed actions include: land
acquisition, extension of airfield pavements, site development for
terminal facilities and structures, relocation of navigational aids and
public roadway re-alignments. In compliance with the National
Environmental Policy Act, environmental coordination is being prepared
to disclose the impacts associated with the major proposed actions, and
to receive public recommendations regarding the project improvements,
and scoping issues for conducting the subsequent environmental
assessment.  
	Representatives of the airport and consultants Reynolds, Smith
and Hills Inc. will be available at the workshop to answer questions
about the airport master plan and to receive comments or solicit written
remarks concerning the proposed actions. In addition, written remarks
will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Sept. 5, 2009. Mail to: Jeff Smith,
