Use Twitter for latest Columbia Transit service updates
(COLUMBIA, MO) - Bus passengers can now receive up-to-the-minute
service disruption information that may affect their journey by simply
following Columbia Transit from their Twitter account. After signing up
for a Twitter account, passengers can follow the main Columbia Transit
profile, Columbia_MO_Bus, to receive updates. Passengers can even
register for updates to be sent to their mobile phones.
Twitter allows people to communicate by exchanging quick,
140-character messages called “tweets” that can be delivered to the
Web, by text or via mobile applications. While Twitter is a free
service, regular text charges will apply to receive messages via mobile
phones.
“We are always looking for better ways to deliver important
information to our passengers,” said Drew Brooks, transportation
supervisor for Columbia Transit. “Twitter’s service allows us to
reach passengers in a fast, efficient manner.”
For more information, please contact Columbia Transit at (573)
874-7282, or go online to www.GoColumbiaMo.com or
http://twitter.com/Columbia_MO_Bus.
