Sixth annual Hinkson Clean Sweep set for Oct. 17
								
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The sixth annual Hinkson Clean Sweep is
scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will
remove trash and other debris from local creek and stream banks. Not
only is water quality improved, the efforts of Hinkson Clean Sweep
volunteers will prevent tons of litter, mostly plastics, from winding up
in local waterways.  
	Participants may register online at www.GoColumbiaMo.com or by
calling (573) 874-7504. Volunteers may select from a variety of
locations throughout Columbia. All cleanup supplies are provided.
Volunteers who participate in the cleanup efforts will be treated to a
barbeque picnic after the event.  
	The sixth annual Hinkson Clean Sweep is cosponsored by the city
of Columbia, Boone County Public Works, the Sierra Club, Missouri Stream
Team, University of Missouri, Hinkson Creek Watershed Restoration
Project, Shakespeare’s Pizza, Firestone Complete Auto Care, Coley’s
American Bistro and Makes Scents.
