City announces opening of Household Hazardous Waste Facility
        
(COLUMBIA, MO) – The city of Columbia Solid Waste Division announces
the opening of the Household Hazardous Waste Facility beginning
Saturday, April 3. The facility provides residents a legal and cost-free
way to dispose of unwanted household chemicals and paint that cannot be
disposed of in the regular trash. Residents can take hazardous waste to
the facility at 1313 Lakeview Avenue the first and third Saturdays, 9
a.m. to 1 p.m., April through November.  

Hazardous waste products cannot be picked up curbside. The city’s
Household Hazardous Waste Facility is a safe way to dispose of oil,
paint, cleaning products, antifreeze and other unwanted chemicals. This
facility is for residential use only; commercial waste is not accepted.
