Water project on Smith Drive     
 
 (COLUMBIA, MO) – Columbia Water and Light will install a new 8-inch water line on the south side of West Smith Drive, between Silver Thorne Drive and Windermere Drive, starting Monday, Aug. 9. The new water line will help create a loop in the water distribution system which will help isolate main breaks and provide more water for fire fighting purposes. The work will take place between the sidewalk and the curb so there will not be any traffic restrictions during the installation process. The project is expected to take one month to complete, depending on the weather. There should be no disruptions to water service during the water main installation.
