Mayor Hindman proclaims commitment as 2010 U.S. Census partner

COLUMBIA, MO (January 14, 2010) - At today’s Columbia Values
Diversity Celebration, Mayor Darwin Hindman proclaimed this
community’s partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau for the
upcoming 2010 Census. In keeping the with the Celebration theme,
“Everyone Counts,” Hindman made the connection between Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr.’s dream of equality and the need to get a fair and
accurate count of our people.

Hindman and Boone County Presiding Commissioner Ken Pearson will chair
the Complete Count Alliance, a broad-based group of citizens charged
with encouraging others to complete and return their 2010 Census forms
this spring.
The Alliance will meet on Friday, January 15, starting at 2 p.m. at the
Activities and Recreation Center, 1701 W. Ash Street. The meeting is
open to the public.
