Scott Boulevard traffic to move to new lanes

(COLUMBIA, MO) – The city of Columbia Public Works Department announces that on Friday, July 30, after 9 a.m., traffic will be moved to the two new lanes of Scott Boulevard. Once traffic is moved to the new lanes, the west side of Scott Boulevard will close for construction.
Street intersections that will be closed for construction during this phase of the project include Gillespie Bridge Road, Mesa, Rainbow Trout and Sussex. Two intersections (North Pinebrook and Brookview Court) will alternate closing so that when one is under construction the other will remain open. Intersections that will remain open include Chapel Hill, Georgetown, Millbrook, Smith and Ester Lee Court. Sussex Drive and Rainbow Trout Drive are expected to reopen within 6-8 weeks, weather permitting.
The Scott Boulevard project is expected to be completed summer 2011. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the construction area and use an alternate route whenever possible.
