Public hearings set for Business Loop 70 sidewalk, Stadium Boulevard
corridor improvements
(COLUMBIA, MO) – The Public Works Department announces the following
public hearings to be held Monday, June 21, during the regularly
scheduled City Council meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Council
Chambers at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway.
New sidewalk on Business Loop 70
The project consists of new sidewalk on Business Loop 70, from Jackson
to Jefferson streets, and is being coordinated with the construction of
a 12-inch waterline along the same corridor. Total cost for this project
is $200,000 and is identified for construction in 2010.
Reconstruction of Stadium Boulevard
The proposed project includes improvements to:
1) Stadium Boulevard, from Broadway to Interstate 70
2) Bernadette Drive, from Fairview Road to Beverly Drive
3) Fairview Road, from Worley Street to Bernadette Drive
4) Worley Street, from Bernadette Drive to the Columbia Mall traffic
signal
Total cost for this project is $19.6 million, which is a joint venture
between the city of Columbia, Missouri Department of Transportation and
three Transportation Development Districts (TDD). The projects will be
staged and are identified for construction beginning in late 2010
through 2013. Detailed maps and a schedule can be found online at
