Ribbon cutting ceremony planned for completion of Mexico Gravel Road
improvements

COLUMBIA, MO (November 18, 2010) - The Columbia Public Works Department
invites the public to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the
completion of Mexico Gravel Road. A ribbon cutting will be held
tomorrow, Friday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony will take place
at the corner of Mexico Gravel Road and Wellington Drive.

This 2005 ballot issue project included the reconstruction of Mexico
Gravel Road from Vandiver to Route PP at a total cost of $4.4 million.
The project was funded by the ¼ cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax,
Special Road District Tax, Development Fees and Capital Fund Balance.
This completed project allows for better connectivity to Highway 63, a
roundabout at Route PP, sidewalks on both sides of the road and bike
lanes. This project was completed by Emery Sapp and Sons.
