Water project closes left turn lane on Rogers Street

(COLUMBIA, MO) – Columbia Water and Light will be tying in a new 8-inch water line on Rogers Street on Monday, Oct. 25, and Tuesday, Oct. 26. Motorists traveling east on Rogers Street will not be able to turn left onto Range Line Street. Those needing to head north should use College Avenue to detour around the block. All other traffic will be able to move through the intersection of Rogers Street and Range Line Street. Motorists are urged to be cautious in the construction area.
The new water line was installed in conjunction with a road project and will deliver more water for fire fighting purposes. Customers will be individually notified of any temporary disruptions in their water service while the work is being completed. After the new main is placed in service, the water lines will be flushed. Customers in this area might notice a slight discoloration in their water. Customers that experience this problem should let the water run for a few minutes until the discoloration disappears. The water will continue to be safe to drink.
