Sidewalk reconstruction on Fifth Street begins June 8

COLUMBIA, MO (June 3, 2011) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department announces that on Wednesday, June 8, Boone Construction will begin sidewalk reconstruction along the west side of Fifth Street between Cherry and Locust streets. This work will result in the closure of the parking spaces adjacent to the sidewalk, but pedestrian access to the adjoining businesses will be maintained at all times. The work should be completed by July 8, weather permitting. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when near the construction area.
