Downtown Sixth and Cherry parking garage to be cleaned

COLUMBIA, MO (June 3, 2011) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department announces that beginning Monday, June 6, at 6 a.m. crews will be working on the Sixth and Cherry parking garage. Parking maintenance crews will scrub and wash the entire garage beginning on Monday in preparation for resealing the garage this summer.

This work will require that sections of the garage be blocked off. One level at a time will be closed to parking starting at the top and working down. Cleaning is estimated to take approximately one week to complete.

Individuals with parking permits for the Sixth and Cherry garage can park in the Fifth and Walnut garage permitted spaces during this maintenance work. Sixth and Cherry permits will be honored in the permit area at the new garage as long as permit holders display their existing hang tag. Hourly spaces are also available in the Fifth and Walnut garage for visitors.
