Parks and Recreation Presents Family Fun Fests

COLUMBIA, MO (June 8, 2011) - Explore outdoors at the next Family Fun Fest! Parks and Recreation will hold the "Explore Outdoors" event from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 15 at Flat Branch Park.

Family Fun Fest will feature Wild Heart, an Emmy Award-winner for children's programming. Wild Heart will perform a musical adventure for young audiences, exploring wildlife, habitats, and natural history.

Other activities at Family Fun Fest will include a variety of booths from organizations such as Bass Pro Shops, Missouri Department of Conservation, Department of Natural Resources, Missouri River Relief, National Fish and Wildlife Services, City of Columbia Public Works, Parks and Recreation's CARP program and more.

The Fun Fests feature a new theme each month and offer free entertainment for the entire family such as music, special performances, art activities, bounce-houses, hands-on activities, balloon-animals, face painting and fun for all ages.

The Family Fun Fests are sponsored by the Convention & Visitors Bureau, KPLA 101.5, KOMU TV8, EntPro Entertainment and Columbia Home.
