Fire Damages North Columbia Storage Building

COLUMBIA, MO (October 4, 2011) - For Immediate Release:

Fire Damages North Columbia Storage Building

 

Columbia Fire Fighters were called at 5:28 pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, to 2907 North Willowbrook Court for a reported fire in an uninhabited structure.

 

While crews were en-route to the fire they reported seeing heavy black smoke from Paris and Vandiver. When crews arrived on the scene they reported a fully involved 30 X 40 shed or out building behind the duplex at 2907 North Willowbrook Road. Crews gained access to the structure from the Willowbrook Rd side and from Mexico Gravel Road. Hand lines were used on both sides as well as an elevated master stream from Quint 4.

 

It took approximately 30 minutes to bring the fire under control and then a few hours to overhaul and complete extinguishment. At the time of this release the fire was under investigation and a dollar loss had not been released. There were no injuries reported as a result of this fire.
