Eighth Annual Hinkson Clean Sweep

COLUMBIA, MO (October 5, 2011) - The annual Hinkson Clean Sweep is scheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will remove trash and other debris from local creeks and stream banks. Not only is water quality improved, the efforts of Hinkson Clean Sweep volunteers will prevent tons of litter, mostly plastics, from winding up in local waterways. More than 500 volunteers will work at eight sites throughout Columbia.

The Eighth Annual Hinkson Clean Sweep is coordinated by City of Columbia, Boone County, University of Missouri, Sierra Club Osage Group, the Missouri Department of Conservation Stream Team and the Mid-Missouri Solid Waste Management District.
