College Avenue traffic restricted for a week

COLUMBIA, MO (October 20, 2011) - Beginning Monday, October 24, the Columbia Terminal Railroad (COLT) will replace the railroad crossing on College Avenue. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction while COLT replaces the track and crossing surface.Hickory Street will be closed at College Avenue during this maintenance project. The work is expected to take about a week to complete, weather permitting. Motorists are urged to be cautious in the construction area.

 

The COLT is a short line railroad owned by the City of Columbiaand operated by Columbia Water & Light. It provides railroad freight service to Columbia and mid-Missouri.
