Office of Emergency Management and Public Safety Joint Communications at Columbia's Neighborhood Congress
COLUMBIA, MO (September 26, 2011) - Representatives from the Columbia/Boone County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) AND Public Safety Joint Communications (PSJC) will be on hand Tuesday night, September 27th, for the "Neighborhood Congress" event at Columbia's Activity and Recreation Center.
"We invite residents of Columbia to visit with us at the Neighborood Congress and learn more about us," says Director Zim Schwartze. "Our staff will be on hand to talk about our operations as well as disaster preparedness. If you want to know more about who we are and what we do, this would be a great chance."
Displays from various city departments will be set up at 5 p.m., with residents and city officials participating in an open forum from 6 until 8:30 p.m. The event is presented by the city's Office of Neighborhood Services.
OEM and PSJC will have a number of publications and pamphlets for the public at the event, addressing a wide variety of disasters, as well as how to prepare and react. The "Neighborhood Congress" event is free and open to the public.
