Household Hazardous Waste Facility opens tomorrow

COLUMBIA, MO (April 6, 2012) - The City of Columbia announces the opening of the Household Hazardous Waste Facility Saturday, April 7. Residents can take hazardous waste to the facility at 1313 Lakeview Ave. the first and third Saturdays April through November from 8 a.m. to noon. 

This program provides residents a legal and cost-free way to dispose of unwanted household chemicals and paint that cannot be disposed of in the regular trash. Hazardous waste products cannot be picked up curbside. The facility is for residential use only; commercial waste is not accepted.
