Electronic waste recycling scheduled for April 28
COLUMBIA, MO (April 16, 2012) - The City of Columbia Solid Waste Division announces that Mid-MO Recycling will collect used electronics, as part of its effort to save landfill space through environmentally-friendly recycling. Two collections will take place Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Home Depot parking lot at 3215 Clark Lane and at Rock Bridge Elementary School, 5151 S Highway 163.
Items accepted at no charge include CPUs, printers, keyboards, computer mice, laptops, wire, cables, hard drives, cell phones, pagers, washing machines, stoves, radios, satellite dishes, scanners, speakers, DVD players, VCRs, fax machines, telephones, answering machines, car batteries, dryers and stereos. Other items accepted at a small fee include monitors, portable televisions, console televisions, copiers and microwaves. Refrigerators and hazardous materials will not be accepted at this collection event.
