City Channel wins Telly award

COLUMBIA, MO (April 27, 2012) - A City Channel employee was recently recognized for her creative excellence in production. Rosemary Frank received a bronze Telly award from the Silver Telly Council, a prestigious judging panel of more than 500 accomplished industry professionals.

Frank, a producer, videographer and editor, earned the Telly award for her story "Take Control. Get Tested. The STD Reality Check." The story featured the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services' STD/HIV outreach program and clinic. The award-winning production included an emotional testimonial from a client who is living with HIV.

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and Web commercials, videos and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work. Entries do not compete against each other but are judged against a high standard of merit.

The Telly Awards receive more than 13,000 entries annually from the finest ad agencies, production companies, TV stations, cable companies, interactive agencies and corporations in the world. Entries are judged by top industry professionals.

The City Channel is the award-winning government access television station in Columbia, Mo. The channel broadcasts city meetings and original programming featuring department programs and activities.
