World AIDS Day Event Revision

COLUMBIA, MO (December 3, 2012) - The public is invited to attend the World AIDS Day Event and reception. Regrettably the presentation by Shawn and Gwenn, "A Boy, A Girl, A Virus" scheduled for 6:30 p.m. is cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances. Despite this, the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services and the University of Missouri Bond Life Science Center have several exciting events planned.  At 6 p.m. Rain will lead a remembrance ceremony, followed by Dr. Schultz from the University of Missouri presenting an update on current HIV research. A reception afterwards in the Bond Life Sciences Center McQuinn Atrium will feature displays of four panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt and posters from MU's cutting edge HIV researchers. The panels represent many Missourians who have lost their lives to HIV/AIDS. Please join us for this World AIDS Day Event.

When: Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at 6 p.m.

Where: Monsanto Auditorium at the Bond Life Science Center on the MU campus

Sponsors include Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services and the Youth Advisory Committee, with assistance from Rain, University of Missouri Bond Life Science Center and MU Masters of Public Health Graduate Student Association.
