Snow Plowing and Treating - Late Afternoon Update

COLUMBIA, MO (December 20, 2012) - Efforts to plow and treat streets will continue overnight and on Friday. A full crew will work until 7:00 PM on 1st and 2nd priority roadways. After 7:00 PM, a "light" crew of 7 trucks will continue to treat and plow 1st and 2nd priority roadways.

At 7:00 am on Friday, a full crew will begin to work on non-priority roadways to treat and plow where needed.

As temperatures continue to fall tonight, the main concern will be refreezing of moisture on roadways where melting has occurred.

As a reminder, motorist are urged to buckle-up, allow for extra time for your trip, and to slow down. Pedestrians and cyclist should adhere to similar cautions to prevent falls.

We appreciate your patience while we work to ensure the roadways are safe during this winter weather event.
