Winter Weather Advisory in Effect until 6 am Tuesday - Stay Tuned for Updates on Roadways

COLUMBIA, MO (December 30, 2012) - The National Weather Service in St. Louis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all of central Missouri from 6 am Monday, December 31 to 6 am Tuesday, January 1.

Initially, snow is expected to start between 7 am and 9 am on Monday, with slushy accumulations on grass, sidewalks and roadways. A brief break in precipitation is expected in the early afternoon and then another shot of snow for Monday evening with falling temperatures.

We are working on plans for treatment and clearing of roadways. Updates will be issued early this evening via a press release. Updates will also be posted on our Facebook page at Facebook.com/ColumbiaMissouriPublicWorks and on our Twitter feed @pub_works

Commuters should allow for extra time on the Monday commutes and those with New Years Eve plans should monitor weather and road conditions closely.
